Bharti Airtel launched 5G in a further 125 cities bringing its total to over 265 locations across India, as it aims to cover priority locations in the next two years.
In a statement, Bharti Airtel CTO Randeep Sekhon said: “The mega launch is our promise to connect every Airtel customer in the country with ultra-fast Airtel 5G Plus. Our 5G rollout is on track to cover all towns and key rural areas by March 2024.”
Currently, Bharti Airtel’s 5G network is available in every major city from the upper northern city of Jammu to the southern tip of Kanyakumari.
Bharti Airtel launched its 5G network in October 2022 and provided use cases such as a live 5G network in Hyderabad to India's first private 5G network at the BOSCH facility in Bengaluru.
It also partnered with Mahindra & Mahindra to make its Chakan facility, India’s first 5G-enabled auto manufacturing unit.
Key rival Reliance Jio has also been launching its SA 5G network across India as it also tallies up hundreds of locations with the technology.
