Thailand to be first beneficiary of new data centre partnership

Thailand and the Philippines are set to benefit from a partnership involving a US-based pioneer in waterborne data centres and a leader in luxury property development in Thailand.

Real estate developer Raimon Land Public Company Limited has announced a strategic partnership with Nautilus Data Technologies involving the data centre sector. Nautilus provides what it describes as the world’s most environmentally innovative, water-cooled data centre infrastructure using its patented TRUE (Total Resource Usage Effectiveness) technologies.

The cooling system, we are told, reduces energy costs and eliminates water consumption, wastewater production and harmful refrigerant use, making it one of the cleanest data centre technologies on the market.

The patented Nautilus technology can, the company says, be utilized for a land-based or floating data centre with a modular prefabricated approach that delivers in nine to 12 months anywhere in the world.

As for Raimon Land, this strategic partnership allows it to provide sustainable, world-class data centre infrastructure and services in Thailand as well as other key regional markets such as the Philippines.

Raimon, which is entering the data centre space with this deal, calls data centres “a core pillar of the new economy” whose buildings have “key real estate requirements for their development in which our knowledge will be critical”. Raimon Land, whose focus to date has been on luxury and super-luxury real estate, has developed more than 20 residential properties in Thailand.

Raimon Land, expects to undergo site evaluation and selection in 2022-2023, after which it will formally announce its first site location.
