MTN and Ecobank launching MFS offering with Optasia in Guinea

Fintech provider Optasia is launching a microloan service in Guinea with pan-African Ecobank and MTN, via the latter’s MoMo (Mobile Money) service.

MTN is seeking to strengthen is financial offering in Guinea, where it has over 4.25 million subscribers and over 800,000 active mobile money wallet (MoMo) users. Branded as Prêt Xpress, the service is powered by Optasia's AI-led technology platform and will be made available to MTN’s Guinean subscribers via Ecobank.

This deployment is the first MoMo loan service offered by MTN in the country, and kicks off a series of deployments that Optasia will be rolling out with MTN in Uganda, Ivory Coast, Ghana, Benin and many other countries.
