Telefónica has selected Comarch to provide Configuration Management, Network Planning & Design across its Latin American operations.
By implementing Comarch’s solutions, Telefónica wants to optimise and standardise their network planning processes as well as simplify and automate network configuration management for the group’s companies. Comarch’s solutions for network planning and configuration management for transport networks will support Telefónica’s rollout of new infrastructure in Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia and Peru.
The plan to re-use Comarch’s OSS solutions and business processes across Telefónica’s multiple locations is in line with Telefónica’s global sourcing strategy. The plan also aims to speed up OSS transformations and bring down their costs through group synergies.
Modernising networks and systems by accelerating the deployment of FTTH and LTE technologies, as well as increasing network coverage is one of the pillars of Telefónica’s strategy. The goal is to meet customer needs and deliver innovative digital services, while at the same time improving the efficiency of the operator’s global networks and operations.
“As data consumption in our networks is growing and our customers want a seamless online experience on their smartphones, modernising our network is essential to realising our strategy of becoming a Digital Telco” said Juan Manuel Caro Bernat, Director of Operations & OSS at Telefónica S.A.
Comarch Next Generation Network Planning is a fully integrated, multi-vendor, multi-technology mobile network management platform that enables operators to comprehensively and efficiently manage network planning, expansion and optimization processes. Being an all-in-one tool, the system replaces vendor-specific systems with a universal OSS platform, based on a centralised data repository and a processing engine.
